Each year, the Miguel Contreras Foundation's Cinco de Mayo Awards brings together the labor movement, community leaders, partners, supporters, and friends to celebrate the people and partnerships that make our work possible. This year's event, held at the beautiful Los Angeles Zoo, welcomed more than 300 guests for an unforgettable evening of connection, celebration, and impact. Guests enjoyed incredible performances by La Santa Cecilia and Carlos y Charlos while honoring three extraordinary champions of working people: Kent Wong, recipient of the Mike Garcia Award; Ernesto Medrano, recipient of the Miguel Contreras Award; and Angélica Salas, recipient of the María Elena Durazo Award. Their lifelong dedication to advancing workers' rights, immigrant communities, and social justice embodies the values that continue to inspire MCF's mission.

Most importantly, the event was a tremendous fundraising success. Every dollar raised helps expand access to workforce development programs, scholarships, supportive services, and career opportunities that empower workers and families across Los Angeles. We are deeply grateful to our sponsors, partners, volunteers, and everyone who joined us to celebrate Miguel Contreras' legacy while investing in the next generation of workers and leaders. Together, we are creating pathways to opportunity and building a stronger future for our communities.
